“Little Mister Frog” in the Brazilian Heritage Songbook in English and Portuguese

Play & Move:

  • Have students pair up (2 to a group), and assign one child as the frog, and the other as the bridge.
  • When the song begins, the child who is the bridge will form an arch with their hands and legs, allowing the “frog” to pass under the bridge.
  • After the frog passes under, the bridge should lay flat on the ground with their knees under them, and the frog jumps (or steps) over them.
  • Repeat the cycle.

Extensions
Both frog and bridge clap in time to the music during the activity (this can be difficult, so the children may miss some beats or lose track of the beat at moments).
